Overall, very good+. Miguel Angel Asturias [1899-1974] was a Guatemalan writer, poet and diplomat. Originally published in 1946, ‘The President’, was completed in 1933 while Asturias was still in exile in Paris and was an implicit condemnation of Guatemalan dictator Manuel Estrada Cabrera.
