Part of a series of booklets which were sent out to children in return for the tops of packages of ‘Genuine Jello-o’ or ‘Nuts Flakes’ manufactured and sold by the Post Foods Co. of Canada – known chiefly for their breakfast cereals as part of their consumer engagement efforts. The booklet refers derisively to Indigenous People as “Redskins”. Sections include: “How the redskins dressed”; “How the Indians made moccasins”; “How the redskins made canoes”; “How the redskins hunted game”; “How the redskins tamed animals”; “How the redskins sent signals”; “How the Indians used eagle feathers”. The stories contained are accompanied with illustrations, many depicting Indigenous peoples in stereotypical fashions of the day. Light rubbing to the covers, small chip to the corner of the rear cover, contents clean and unmarked; very good. Scarce. Scarce with no known copies of this title available in commerce.
