Swankey, Ben (Prepared by). Keep Canada Out!, Why Canada Should Not Join The Organization of American States. Vancouver: Canadian Cuban Friendship Committee, 1963. First Edition, First Printing. pp. 20. 12mo., measuring 22 cm tall. Bright orange stapled card covers bearing an image (borrowed from Mauldin, and originally printed in the Chicago Sun-Times) of a sombrero emblazoned with “Latin America” in large letters along the rim. No detectable flaws, bright, clean, and unamarked with tight, sound binding; fine. A not so subtle critique of the Organization of American States, their stance towards Fidel Castro, Cuban Communism in general. The author does not attempt to hide their critical views of “yankee imperialsm”, and the “malicious” political and economic motives of the United States in Latin America, all the while imploring the Canadian government, policy-makerts, and the public to resist the temptation to join as a member state of the OAS. Scarce, with no extant copies available in commerce at time of cataloguing. Corresponds to OCLC #965154803.
