Bound in publisher’s original lilac-coloured, pebbled cloth over boards, and bearing the blind-stamped seal of the Oblats de Marie-Immaculée to the centre of the front board, blind-stamped floral head and tail pieces to boards, bright gilt lettering and floral ornaments to the spine; publisher’s red foredges. Beautifully illustrated throughout with many plates of religious illustrations, engravings, etc. Text printed entirely in anglicanized Ojibwa with headings in French or Latin. “Tosso pipun apine ka nitawikit Jesus”, and the Oblate seal on the title page; errata on last page. Exceptionally well-preserved with no substantial flaws to the extremities. Excepting a single circular stamp to the verso of title page, the contents remain entirely without blemish with bright, clean, and unmarked pages. Exceedingly rare in commerce, our offering(s) being the only extant copy available at time of cataloguing. Equally scarce amongst institutional holdings. Rare indeed. Hardcover.
