He has received training at Mennonite Brethren College, at Tabor College and the University of Manitoba. He taught at Chilliwack Bible School for one year and for over twenty years in various public high schools in British Columbia and Manitoba. As a biology teacher he was interested in presenting a more positive view than was found in the texts. The school division granted him a sabbatical to prepare biology lessons from a creation perspective.
