Social hygienist organizations emphasized sexual continence, and strict self-discipline as a solution to societal ills, tracing prostitution, drug use, and illegitimacy to rapid urbanization. The Canadian Social Hygiene Council emerged alongside its British, and American counterparts using similar means, and methodology beginning from the late 19th century and well into the 20th. Rare, with no copies of the Canadian printing of this title available in commerce at time of cataloguing. Not in Peel. See OCLC #223768182. “Dear…I want to write a letter to you about a subject which is often a matter of laughter and jest, but which ought to be a subject of very serious thought to every lad who is growing or has grown into manhood. The subject is that of sex-its meaning and its dangers.” Card Covers. (#1212) $145.00
