The public should not be miseld by these technical names.” Sections include: Biscuits, Cakes, Muffins, “10 Famous Cake Recipes”, Six Prize-Winning Recipes, Icings and Frostings, Recipes for Good Home-Made Bread and Sweet Goods, Special Recipes for Odd Occassions, and many others. No detectable flaws, contents bright, clean and unmarked with tight, sound binding; fine. Scarce. See Driver, Culinary Landmarks (p. 712, O702.9). Driver states the following regarding the date of publication: “Editions where the binding has an image of three women and the slogan ‘a family tradition’ or ‘Une tradition de famille’ were published about 1940. The evidence for this date is in a letter of 1 June 1991 to me, from an owner of one of these English editions: “This little cookbook while we were having lunch in Halifax while on our honeymoon in late July, 1940. My husband who had a general store recognized the salesman from Standard Brands who was sitting near us.” Stapled Wraps. (#1410) $59.00
