Sepiatone covers; black background with white lettering, and illustration of two men sawing a tree to the front covers; held with original black utilitarian cloth-strip along the spine. Produced chiefly for the benefit of forestry workers, L.B. Pett (Chief, Nutrition Division) states in his preface: “At the request of the Woodlands Section, Canadian Pulp and Paper Association for a publication on food service operation the Nutrution Division, Department of National Health and Welfare wrote a series of booklets which covers the topic. The task of writing and compiling fell chiefly on Miss Maragarett Lock, Supervisor of the Group Feeding Section of the Nutrition Division”. Pett further acknowledges the many recipes dervied from the ‘R.C.A.F. Manual C.A.P. 43’. An identical version of this cookbook was simultaneously published in French (See OCLC #1131204675). Lightest rubbing to the covers, neat period ink name to the ffep otherwise, contents remain bright, clean, and unmarked with tight, sound binding. Card Covers.
